I will try to pair people with crossovers and the like when I see them, but that won't be my sole criteria. Stating that you'd like to receive a crossover will not guarantee that you get one, and vice versa for writing one. This is an attempt to include crossovers in the santa list. I would naturally like to see crossovers, but I don't want to schism them into their own subgroup and dilute the whole writing group number.
The Jinxed_wood Crossover Stipulation: all the stories have to be set in the Highlander universe, even if they use crossover characters (as opposed to having Methos wandering around in the Buffyverse, for example, with nary another Highlander character in sight.). Thanks Jinxed!
FINALLY, should you feel that you NEED to clarify your wants and or needs further, or perhaps you have a few scenarios that you would like to see in a story and you need a few sentences to explain them, I suggest making a post in your LJ addressed to your HLHShortCutter in your LJ. I would note that you have done so and maybe link to it at the bottom of your sign in form.

We have never had issue with this before, but I want to continue the trend of signups taking only one comment. The more you put, the more difficult it becomes to place you, and the more difficult it becomes for your author. Please refrain from laundry lists and overly detailed optional requests.

PREFERENCES: AU (pretty much any kind), dubconnish tropes, anything exploring the Immortal condition or other magicy weirdness about the world, I mean, it's Highlander, go weird and wild (canon is only a starting point), I like all kinds of supernatural and science fictiony stuff, quickenings, kink, beheadings, women doing all kinds of different things, historical fiction with any of the above, it's Highlander, so when you're immortal, is monogamy really a thing? queer relationships, polyamory, deep, stable relationships that can pick up after a hundred year break - or a thousand year break, whatever
When it comes to canon preferences, HL: The Series, obviously yes, with the caveat that I'm Clan Denial, would happily ignore Rebecca's death too, and other inconvenient bits of canon that get in the way of a good story, and I adore HL: The Raven (uh, I am neutral-to-no on writing Nick, though). I enjoy the first Highlander movie and will skip the rest.
3. DISLIKES: rape/noncon (yeah, I know, dubcon versus noncon splits some hairs, I really am sorry!), character bashing, bodily excretion-related-kink, guy-centric fic (I haven't signed up for a fic exchange for like 2 years so please don't give me a fic that focuses on the guys for my first fic exchange in that long), I'm not great with writing m/m so please don't ask me to try, again, if you write Cassandra, please do not write her as a vengeful madwoman, and also I'm not big on fluff.

1. PREFERRED TYPE/PEOPLE: Duncan, Amanda, Methos, Connor. I love pretty much all the other characters on the show, but something with one or more of my favorite four would be ideal. However, other faves are Joe, Richie, Tessa, Matthew, Nick Wolfe, May-Ling, Cory. Any of these as part of a rarepair or crossover situation would be awesome, as long as it's in grounded in the HL mythology. (HL: The Raven counts!)
2. PREFERENCES: I love relationships, romantic or otherwise. Give some attention to what the characters mean to each other, or how their lives are intertwined, and I'll be happy. Other things I love: caper fic, domestic idylls, post-apocalypse (no zombies, though!!) quickening shenanigans, reunions after long absences, Immortal perspectives on current events or history, Watcher shenanigans, slash, het, gen, femslash, polyamory, found family, what-ifs/alternate timelines. (Feel free to un-kill anyone!)
3. DISLIKES: Abusive relationships, cliches, MPREG, transphobia, Methos/Joe, any view of Duncan that involves the words "judgmental" or "clueless" or generally paints him as an annoyance the other characters have to tolerate. (He's my favorite, so if you don't love him, please leave him out! I'll happily read about someone(s) else.)

1. PREFERRED TYPE/PEOPLE: Flexible on ratings. Character-wise - Methos, Amanda, Joe, Duncan, roughly in that order. I also love a ton of the minor characters like Cory Raines, Robert & Gina diValicourt, Marcus Constantine, Grace Chandel, Fitz, Rebecca. The Watchers in general, the Horsemen in general. I recently watched all the way through The Raven and really, I'd love to see more Liam, maybe interacting with some of the main show's characters. Also, I know this might be really weird, but if anyone else has the Highlander board game and wants to use Talia/Ix Tlali or Naminaga Minamoto/Amy Gray from that, I would be so thrilled. If anyone is interested in what the hell I'm talking about there, shoot me a message or something and I will fill you in.
2. PREFERENCES: I love capers and adventures and I've got a thing for exploring the potential problems and complexities that immortality brings with it. Banter is good, prodding Methos into Doing The Right Thing is good, future fic is awesome, flashbacks are also awesome.

If Duncan’s there, I don’t object but I’d rather it focus a bit more on the other characters.
