1. TYPE/PEOPLE: Gen and canon 'ships are my favorites. I most enjoy Duncan, Tessa, Randi, Darius, Charlie, Angie, earnest Richie (not as much comedy Richie), Anne, Michelle, Cierdwyn, and one-off mortal characters whose relationships with our protagonists are (or should be!) bigger than their screen time. Duncan/Tessa is my OTP. Monogamy preferred in any romance. (No objections to Joe, Connor, or Methos! Just not specifically requesting (they usually get lots of representation).)
2. LIKES: I love the fable of the character doomed to lose everyone and everything, who is yet brave enough to care and care again. I most enjoy the first two seasons, when there are more mortal than immortal characters and the formula is not set. I adore when Duncan leans into the right side of history as it happens, not because the right is obvious, but because justice, mercy, and service are so deep in him. I like everything from missing scenes to character death, but the best, trickiest thing is when a story feels like stepping into the river of canon's reality. And a good guy being good is always a win.
3. DISLIKES: I don't enjoy the Horsemen, Ahriman, Cassandra, or Kenny. I despair of Duncan portrayed as childish. I'd rather not read pro-evil, non-con, things commonly called kinks, mentor/student, tropes like mpreg, or hostility to faith.
For the gift I'm giving:
1. CHARACTERS I WON'T WRITE: Cassandra, Kenny, Kronos, Silas, Caspian, Ahriman, Nick Wolfe, Cory Raines, characters native to The Raven or the later movies.
2. THINGS I WON'T WRITE: pro-evil, NC-17, things commonly called kinks, non-con, tropes like mpreg.
Crossovers:
Crossovers you'd write: If crossovers are your favorite: Young Blades, Forever Knight, Poldark, Call the Midwife, Grantchester, Endeavour, or most long-19th-century British or American literature. (If you're an MCU person, how about Tessa & Old!Steve as artists? Or Duncan & Wanda, bereavement or guilt?)
Crossovers I'll write: Young Blades, Forever Knight, and some long-19th-century British or American literature. And Dungeons & Dragons (the '80s cartoon).
